Our first out of state hike today at the Columbia River Gorge was a success! We hiked the approximate 5 mile loop from Wahkeena Falls to Multnomah Falls and back. The views were amazing. We even saw some wildlife-a woodpecker, ginormous Raven, snail, slugs & unfortunately a (dead) mouse. We survived the grueling 1600 ft elevation gain & loss. Up was hard, but down was much harder on the knees/ankles. Some ended in better shape than others, but all 9 of us (and Cirus) prevailed! Thanks to Viki for the lovely birthday card, Rocky theme song & toast at the end. It was a great birthday hike.
