Yoh! Hike to Fremont Lookout

This morning 6 of us headed up from Sunrise on the east side of Mt. Rainier and along Sourdough Ridge to the Fremont Lookout trail.  We did part of this hike LAST YEAR, but didn't go all the way to the lookout.  The weather was gorgeous this time...sunny & not too hot. We enjoyed magnificent views of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding ridges.  It was a strenuous hike...very hilly with spots of rocky terrain, but we persevered and made it to the lookout at 7200 ft. of elevation.   In all we covered approximately 5.6 miles.  Along the way we saw many chipmunks and a very cute marmot.  It was a great hike!

I guess Andrea wanted to cool down a bit in the snow field.

These flowers look like they are wearing wigs.
